Demo for International Night at Hope Valley, Apr. 20th!

Thank you to everyone who came out to help with our demo at International Night on April 20th!  Our group of Sensei Bill, Sensei Andrew, Sindi, Cat, Shannon, Brian, Cullen and Lindsay did a great job!  We demonstrated basics, different levels of kata, self-defense, iaido and kobudo!

29th Annual Winter Spirit Camp!

The 29th Annual Winter Spirit Camp was held Feb. 10-12 in Kill Devil Hills, N.C.!  Congratulations to Sensei Kevin Gurganus for being promoted to 7th Dan in Motobu-ha Shito-ryu and for also receiving his “Kyoshi” teaching title!  Looking forward to next year!

Kobudo training and testing!

Kobudo training and testing was conducted on Jan. 21st!  Bo basics were covered and kata review up through Yondan!  Those testing were Dave Henshall-shodan, Joe Kelly-nikyu, Carl Turner and Marc Mitzner-yonkyu!  Congratulations!!!

Master’s Memorial seminar and testing!

On Jan. 14th, the Master’s Memorial seminar was held!  Dojo from all over the world participate to celebrate Akamine, Eisuke Hanshi and other teachers who devoted themselves to teaching martial arts and who have passed away.  Jan. 14th is the actual day that Akamine passed away in 1999! ...
