Student of the month for January 2021!

Congratulations to Joel Kungu, our student of the month for January 2021! Joel has been training since March of 2019! He is eleven years old and in the sixth grade at Durham School of the Arts(DSA). His favorite subject is math! Joel started to take karate to learn how to protect himself and others, and he wanted something fun to do after school. His favorite part of class is learning and performing kata! When not in class Joel enjoys singing, playing video games and spending time with his family! Some of Joel’s favorite foods are mac and cheese, chicken and waffles, and pizza. His advice to others is, “always try your best and listen to Sensei when he makes corrections.”:o) Joel always works hard whether live or on Zoom and always has a smile on his face!
