Student of the month for September 2024!

Congratulations to Christopher Magnano, our student of the month for September 2024! Chris is a Jujitsu student at Carolina Martial Arts Center under Shihan Debbera Carson. He recently tested for green belt in jujutsu! Chris is 52 years old and works as an auto mechanic. He stared training at CMAC in 2022. He started Kempo Karate in 7th grade.  He studied that for a couple years until he broke his ankle.  It wasn’t until the early 2000s, that he set foot in another dojo.  He earned a purple belt in another style of kenpo before moving down to North Carolina.  He took some classes with a kenpo instructor here, and took Wing Chun for a year, Silat/Kali for over a year, and tried numerous other schools, including boxing.  “I like striking arts, but came to CMAC because I wanted to learn joint locking and be active again after a car accident.  It has definitely been a challenge as the movements differ than what I am use to, and the techniques are quite intricate even at the lower levels.”  In addition to martial arts, guitar, and music, he enjoys relaxing after a hard day and eating great food.
